Die normale Reihenfolge
Fünf Plätze: Fragewort — will — Subjekt — be — die -ing-Form.
How long will you be staying?
Wenn who das Subjekt ist
Nichts wird getauscht:
- Who will be meeting us at the airport?
- What will be happening on the main stage?
- When will you be leaving? — wann ergibt es sich?
- When will you leave?
How long will you be
How long will you be? — beantwortet mit Two minutes.
When will you be leaving? ist die neutrale Erkundigung, When will you leave? drängt. Deutsch unterscheidet das nur im Tonfall.
«Wie lange brauchst du noch?» ist How long will you be? Wörtlich übersetzt kommt dabei How long do you still need? heraus — verständlich, aber kein Englisch. Die feste Wendung lässt das Verb weg.
«Wie lange bleibst du?» ist How long will you be staying? Deutsch Präsens, Englisch Verlaufszukunft.
Die Umstellung nach dem Fragewort hast du. «Wo werden sie wohnen?» — Hilfsverb an zweiter Stelle. Nur will wandert, be -ing bleibt hinten.
«Wer holt uns ab?» passt eins zu eins. Who will be meeting us? — kein zusätzliches Subjekt.

Fehler, die du vermeiden solltest

Falsch: Who will he be driving? richtig: Who will be driving?
