Der Bau
Nur will wandert nach vorn:
You will have finished. → Will you have finished?
Kurzantworten wiederholen will
Will the parcel have arrived? — Yes, it will. / No, it won’t.
- Will the repairs have been completed by Friday?
- Will you have read it by the meeting?
Die Antwort nennt oft die wirkliche Frist: Not by Friday, but certainly by Monday.
How many chapters will you have written by June?
Fragt man stattdessen nach der verbrachten Zeit, wechselt die Zeitform: How long will you have been writing?
Wo es für Deutschsprachige schiefgeht
«Ist die Reparatur bis Freitag fertig?» ist Will the repairs have been completed by Friday?
Not by Friday, but by Monday heißt «Freitag nicht, Montag ja».
Kein do, Umstellung nur bei will. Have und die dritte Form bleiben hinten zusammen; Will have you finished? reißt den Block auseinander.
