La misma regla que el comparativo
Las palabras cortas llevan -est, las largas llevan the most, y los irregulares son los mismos cuatro:
good → the best, bad → the worst, far → the furthest, little → the least
Por qué the
the fastest route, the most expensive option
Un posesivo puede sustituirlo: my best friend, his worst mistake.
- in: the tallest building in the city
- of: the best of the three
- una oración de relativo: the worst film I have ever seen
Ese último patrón lleva siempre present perfect: the best meal I have ever had.
one of the
It is one of the oldest buildings in Europe. — no one of the oldest building.
Y «el más fácil» no lleva dos marcas: the easiest, no the most easiest.
