above u over
Las dos significan más alto, y en muchas frases vale cualquiera: the lamp above / over the table.
La diferencia se ve en dos casos:
- movimiento cruzando lleva over: He climbed over the fence.
- cubrir lleva over: She pulled a blanket over her knees.
- medidas y niveles llevan above: above sea level, above average
below o under
El mismo patrón, al revés:
- justo debajo, a menudo tocando o tapado → under: under the bed, under a blanket
between o among
- between — dos cosas, o unas pocas que podrías nombrar: between the two houses, between Monday and Friday
- among — un grupo que no cuentas: among the trees, among friends
inside y outside
Come inside. / Come inside the house.
behind e in front of
Fíjate en que in front of son tres palabras y significa delante de algo. In the front of significa dentro, en su parte delantera:
The car is in front of the house. — fuera de ella. I sat in the front of the car. — dentro.
opposite
Significa enfrente, que no es lo mismo que in front of:
The bakery is opposite the bank.
