in the box, on the box, at the box son las tres posibles y significan cosas distintas.
- I’ll meet you at the cinema. — el punto de encuentro
- I saw it in the cinema. — dentro del edificio
- There’s a poster on the cinema. — en su pared
Ciudades, edificios, direcciones
- in una ciudad, un país, una región: in Bergen, in Norway, in the north
- at un edificio cuando piensas en su función: at school, at work, at the station
- in un edificio cuando piensas en su interior: in the school, in the office
- at una dirección completa, in una calle: at 14 King Street, in King Street
Transporte
in en un coche o un taxi, pero on en autobús, tren, avión, barco o bicicleta:
She got in the car and I got on the bus.
Expresiones fijas
at home, at work, at school, in bed, in hospital, on holiday, in the middle, at the top, on the left
