Le schéma
Not se place entre will et be, et se contracte en won’t be :
They will not be working. → They won’t be working.
I won’t be joining you for lunch. — je n’y serai simplement pas.
Comparez I won’t join you, qui sonne comme un refus.
Prévenir d’une indisponibilité
L’emploi quotidien le plus fréquent :
- The office won’t be opening until ten on Monday.
- I won’t be answering emails while I’m away.
Les verbes d’état, encore
Pour un état, employez le futur simple :
We won’t know until Thursday. — et non won’t be knowing.
|---|---|---|
→ The office won’t be opening until ten on Monday.
I won’t be answering emails while I’m away.
