Sua primeira pergunta está vindo.
O padrão
Presente depois de if, will no resultado:
If the shop is closed, we*’ll** go to the market.*
As duas metades tratam do futuro.
Depois de when, as soon as, until, before
I’ll call you when I arrive. — e não when I will arrive. Wait here until he comes. We’ll leave as soon as you’re ready.
Outros finais além de will
- If you ask him, he might say yes. — menos certo
- If you’re passing, come in. — um convite
- If it rains, we can eat inside. — uma opção
- If you want to catch it, you should leave now. — um conselho
unless
Unless substitui if not:
We’ll be late unless we leave now. = if we don’t leave now.
Ameaças e promessas
O primeiro tipo é como o inglês faz as duas:
If you touch that, you*’ll** regret it.* If you finish by five, I*’ll** buy dinner.*

Erros a evitar
Errado: If it will rain, we will stay in. certo: If it rains, we will stay in.
Will pertence só à oração principal.
Errado: If I will see her, I'll tell her. certo: If I see her, I'll tell her.
Errado: If you don't hurry, you missed the train. certo: If you don't hurry, you'll miss the train.
O resultado está no futuro, então leva will.
