Acrescente not logo depois de was ou were. Didn't nunca aparece aqui.

O padrão

Not vem imediatamente depois do verbo, e quase sempre se contrai:

I was not hungry. → I wasn’t hungry.

Ao contrário das formas de presente, há uma só contração para cada — não existe a segunda opção do tipo he’s not.

De novo o verbo concorda com o que vem depois:

• There wasn’t any milk.
• There weren’t any eggs.

Suavizando com wasn’t

O inglês muitas vezes diz o contrário em vez da coisa em si:

The film wasn’t bad normalmente quer dizer que foi bem bom. He wasn’t happy muitas vezes quer dizer que ele ficou irritado.

Esse rebaixamento é comum na fala e vale reconhecer na leitura.
