Terms of use
The short version
The site is free to use. Read the pages, do the exercises, use what you learn anywhere you like. What you may not do is copy the material wholesale and republish it as your own.
Last updated: 22 September 2026.
Using the site
You may use LingoChallenge for your own study or in your own teaching, including in a classroom, without asking us. Quoting a rule, a table or a handful of example sentences, with a link back, is fine.
What needs permission:
- republishing whole pages or the practice pool, in any form;
- scraping the site automatically to build a dataset or another site;
- selling the material, or including it in a paid product.
What belongs to whom
The grammar explanations, the example sentences and the practice pool are our own work. The site is built on the Hugo static site generator and the Hextra theme, both open source under their own licenses, and on the Fredoka and Nunito typefaces, released under the SIL Open Font License.
What the site does not promise
We check the material carefully — the about page describes how — but we cannot promise it is free of mistakes, and you use it at your own risk. In particular:
- the site is not a substitute for a teacher, a course or a qualification;
- we do not guarantee any result in an exam;
- we do not promise the site will always be available, or that any page will stay at the same address.
Nothing here limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Links out
Some pages link to other sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they contain.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new version.
Privacy
What the site records about your visit, and what it does not, is set out on the privacy page.
